Luke List WITB - Farmers Insurance Open Winner

Luke List is the most recent tour winner with the Farmers Insurance Open under his belt. Although Luke has been around for quite some time, you may not know much about him or the clubs he plays with. As you showed us, his game has some tremendous accuracy and power. Let’s look at the clubs that Luke List used to win the Farmers Insurance Open; the good news is that these clubs are available for many amateur golfers to purchase in their proper specs.

The driver is a TaylorMade SIM 2 with a Mitsubishi Diamana DF 80 TX Shaft. If you have been following along with our WITB updates, you may have noticed that the TaylorMade SIM 2 is quite popular among tour players. This driver has tremendous distance and accuracy capabilities and will really stand out on tour as one of the longest drivers.

Fairway Woods and Utility

The 3 wood is the TaylorMade Stealth Plus which is a brand new release to the market. This comes with the same Mitsubishi Diamana DF 80 TX Shaft, which helps to maintain a consistent feel between the driver and the 3 wood in the bag.

The utility is a Callaway X Forged UT Protopye set at 19 degrees. As you can see, Luke List has a variety of manufacturers that he will choose equipment from. The Callaway X Forged has the KBS Tour V 125 Shaft in place.

The irons are the PXG 0311ST Gen 4. These clubs are available in the 4-PW, and they all have the same Tour V 125 shafts. These PXG golf irons are really great looking and have some impressive workability and feel. Even though this is more of your player's design, amateur golfers can also purchase the PXG 0311ST irons.

The wedges are very important golf clubs if you plan on winning a PGA Tour event. While many professionals are taking the pitching wedge out of the bag and putting in a blade-style wedge, List likes the pitching wedge that matches with the 0311ST irons.

Therefore he has room in his bag for three wedges. The 50 and 54 degrees are the Titleist Vokey SM9. These wedges both have the True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 Shafts. In addition, List carries a Titleist Vokey 2022 Wedgeworks Proto 60 degree with a True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400. This change in the shaft between the wedges is not commonly seen.

Finally, the most important club in the bag is an Odyssey O Works 1W. With the O Works 1W, you will see a classic-looking blade-style putter. The model that List plays with is a center shafted design that keeps the putter very stable and centered at impact.

A putter from Odyssey will always have a great feel, and this O Works 1W is no exception. List struggled with his putting for quite some time, but he has now found a putter that works for his needs and made a few tweaks to the putting stroke.

Based on his results at the Farmers, these were all good changes!
