The US Open at The Country Club was one that will go down in the record books. The changes on the leaderboard were constant, golfers were having a tough time hitting fairways, and the pin placements were incredibly difficult. However, Matt Fitzpatrick managed to handle this course incredibly well. His first major and first tournament win in the United States just several years after winning the US Amateur at Brookline. If you are curious as to what clubs Fitzpatrick used to earn this victory, we have all the answers you need.

Driver

As we go through the bag of Matt Fitzpatrick, expect to see clubs from three different brands, Titleist, Ping, and Bettinardi. His driver is a Titleist TSi3 in a 9 degree loft with the A1 setting. The club features a Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw Orange 65 TX. Fitzpatrick has tremendous confidence in this driver and hits it very consistently. Titleist is known for consistency in their products, so this should be no surprise.

Fairway Woods

Many professional golfers change their bag setup from one tournament to another. The perfect setup for Fitzpatrick for the US Open included a Ping G425 Max set at 14.5 degrees and a Ping G410 7 wood set at 20.5 degrees. The 3 wood has a Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw Orange 75 TX, and the 7 wood has a Mitsubishi Tensei CK Pro Orange 80 TX. Both shafts are designed to handle the high swing speeds that Fitzpatrick has developed.

Irons

Fitzpatrick has a single Ping i210 4 iron and then has the Ping S55 in the 5-W. All of these irons have the Ping CFS X 115G shaft. For those that are accurate ball-strikers, the Ping S55 irons provide plenty of workability and an impressive feel.

Wedges

Fitzpatrick adds three more wedges to the bag in addition to the S55 W wedge he carries. These are Titleist Vokey Design SM9 wedges in the 52, 56, and 60 degree lofts. This is a classic wedge setup seen by many players. All three of these wedges will have the True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S300 shafts.

Putter

Finally, the club that really stole the show at the US Open is the Bettinardi DASS BB1 Flow Tour Dept putter. If you notice, the clubs in Matt Fitzpatrick’s bag are all very classic and clean looking, and that is exactly what you will find with this putter as well. Fitzpatrick has a tremendous amount of consistency and confidence with this putter in hand for both long and short putts.

Conclusion

The US Open champion, Matt Fitzpatrick, has been playing some incredible golf lately. The impressive steps he has made will include him in the history of the game for years to come. The equipment Fitzpatrick uses, without a doubt, matches his playing style and strengths.
