Tom Hoge WITB - AT&T Pebble Beach Winner
Tom Hoge has been hanging around the winner's circle for quite some time. However, he knew it was his turn to win when he hit the back nine of the Pebble Beach. Hoge has a successful PGA Tour resume, but this is his first win. Watching Hoge play, you can see that he is very meticulous in his placement of shots and that his game is just solid. If you think it's the clubs that did it, let's take a look at what Tom Hoge has in his golf bag.
Hoge is using the new Titleist TSi3 set at 9 degrees of loft. This driver has a Fujikura Ventus Black 6 X shaft, suited for high swing speed players like Hoge. Plan on seeing quite a few Titleist golf clubs in Hoge’s bag as he is sponsored by Titleist.
Fairway Woods and Hybrids
Hoge plays with a Titleist TS2 3 wood set at 13.5 degrees. The shaft in this club is the Fujikura Atmos Tour Spec Blue 8 X. Although different than the driver shaft; the Fujikura brand will help create some consistency between the driver and the 3 wood. This TS2 is not the latest release from Titleist, but when you find a club that works for you, it can be hard to give it up.
The hybrid in Hoge’s bag is the Titleist 913Hd set at 18 degrees. This club also has a Fujikura shaft in it with the Fujikura Speeder 904 HB X.
The irons are a combo set featuring the Titleist 620CB in the 4 iron and then the 620 MB in the 5-PW. These clubs all have the Project X 6.5 shaft in them. The combination set of the slightly more forgiving iron in the long irons is a common option for many professionals.
It should come as no surprise that Hoge has the Titleist wedges in this golf bag. He is carrying a 52 and 56 in the SM8 design and then the Vokey WedgeWorks in the 60-degree loft. These wedges all have a True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400 golf shaft.
When you look at the performance that Hoge had on Sunday at Pebble Beach, it is easy to attribute his win to his putting. A few key putts coming down the stretch made the difference for him and allowed him the chance to be in the winner's circle.
The putter is the one non-Titleist golf club in Hoge’s bag. This is an Odyssey White Hot OG 2 Ball putter. The OG putter line brings back the original white-hot formulation helping golfers that want that impressive feel that Odyssey has been known for all these years. The 2 ball design is very consistent and allows golfers easy alignment and complete confidence in their stroke.
Based on the performance that we saw on the course this past weekend, Hoge has a lot more winning to do. It will be interesting to see how his bag changes through the years.
