Driver
You will quickly notice that Cameron Champ is a golfer that enjoys the Ping brand. The majority of his golf set is made up with Ping products, and when you look at the style of his game, Ping really makes the perfect sense for Champ.
The driver that helped finalize the 3M Championship is the Ping G425 LST. The driver is a 10.5-degree driver, but Champ keeps it set at 9 degrees. This seems to be a good loft for him based on his swing speed and angle of attack. The club has a Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw White 75 TX shaft in place.
Fairway Woods and Utility
The fairway woods and utility irons in Cameron Champs bag will change quite a bit. Each week it seems as though he is changing things up to better suit the needs of the golf course he is playing. A Ping G425 3 wood and a Ping G425 hybrid have been part of the rotation in the past few months, but nothing stays in place consistently.
Irons
For the 3M Championship, Cameron Champ had a Ping i500 3 iron in the bag, along with the Ping iBlade in the 4-PW. All of these clubs had a True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X7. Champ is not the only tour player that has started to play a mixed set of irons to accommodate the needs for workability and forgiveness.
Wedges
The wedges are the only area of the bag where Cameron Champ moves away from the Ping name. The wedges in his bag are the TaylorMade MG Hi-Toe Raw in the 52, 56, and 60 degrees. These wedges all have the True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400 golf shafts.
Putter
For a player that loves the Ping brand, it is no surprise that Cameron Champ has the Ping Prototype PLD Anser 4 as his putter. When you look at this putter, you will see the same classic style of an answer with the thicker, wider head of a more modern putter. The look and feel of the Anser putters are really great, and clearly, based on Cameron Champs’ current play, it is a very consistent putter as well.
Overall, Cameron Champ has a classic set of golf clubs that are both clean-looking and high-performing. If you want to start playing a bit more like Cameron Champ, take a look at the clubs that Ping has to offer this year.
With a last name like Champ, Cameron Champ was destined to be a champion golfer at some point. With his recent win at the 3M, he now has three PGA Tour wins under his belt. With what we have seen from Champ and his impressive performance from week to week, chances are there will be a few more PGA Tour victories from him in the future. As always, we like to see what it is that makes these golfers stand and succeed. Although being a winner on the PGA Tour takes a ton of dedication, time, and talent, having the right tools in the bag will only make the process quite a bit more enjoyable.
