Corey Conners WITB - Valero Texas Open Winner

Corey Conners hung in there to pull off a one shot victory at the Valero Texas Open. With just one week until the Masters, the Valero is a great way to see who is playing hot and who is ready for the first major of the year. This was the second win for Corey Conners and a special one having his family there with him. Corey is a Ping guy, and we wanted to see which of the new Ping golf clubs he has in his bag for 2023. Here's a look into Corey Conners’ bag.

Driver

The driver of choice for Corey during the Valero Texas Open was the Ping G430 LST. The LST is the lower spinning model, and this particular one has 9 degrees of loft. In addition, Corey uses a shaft that is not widely used on the PGA Tour, the UST Lin-Q 6F5. With the power, he generates, the shaft does a great job keeping up with his strength and still allowing for a straight shot.

Fairway Wood and Hybrid

Conners plays with a PIng G430 Max three wood that has 15 degrees of loft. The shaft is a Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black Prototype 75 6.5. In addition, he has the Ping G425 hybrid set at 19 degrees. The hybrid has another UST shaft, the Mamiya Proforce VTS 85 HX.

These two clubs perfectly bridge that gap between the long clubs in the bag and the shorter irons.

Irons

As a Ping player, Conners has a wide range of great golf irons to choose from. He plays the Ping iBlade in the 4-PW. The shaft in these clubs is Project X 6.0. The Ping iBlade is a sleek-looking golf iron with a thin topline and plenty of workability.

Wedges

Corey Connors has three additional wedges in his bag and the only non-Ping club you will see in this lineup. He has a Ping Glide 4.0 in the 50 and 56 degrees and the Titleist Vokey Design SM8 in the 60 degrees.

Interestingly all of the wedges have that same Project X 6.0 shaft, something we see becoming

more and more common among these golf professionals.

Putter

Finally, the club that seals the deal in any tournament win; the putter. Conners plays with a PLD Prime Tyne H putter. This is not a prototype, so amateur golfers can find a model that works for their needs as well.

Final Thoughts

Corey Conners has a mix of the 2022 and 2023 Ping golf equipment, but most importantly, he has clubs that he feels confident in playing. If you think that any of the clubs in Conner's bag could be a good fit for you, take a look at the customization options that you can find from Fairway Jockey.

Although the shaft flex, length, and club lie may be a bit different for you than they are for Conners, there are options for golfers of all abilities and skill levels.
