Fairway Jockey- Best Selling Wedges Spring Golf Season 2023

We are getting close to prime golf season, and most of the manufacturers have released their latest equipment. We took an in-depth look at what golfers are buying to upgrade their wedges in 2023. The three most popular choices are the Titleist Vokey SM9, Ping Glide 4.0, and the TaylorMade Milled Grind 3 wedges. Here is what you can expect from each of these impressive short-game tools.

Titleist Vokey SM9

The Titleist Vokey SM9 is a tour-proven design with impressive spin and a new forward center of gravity location. Titleist found that players were looking for more control of their wedge shots without losing spin and feel.

By raising the center of gravity and adding weight to the top line, there is a little extra forgiveness but, most importantly, more control in these SM9 wedges.

Although you see golfers on the PGA Tour with Vokey SM9 wedges in their bags all the time, there are plenty of custom stock options from Fairway Jockey to fine-tune this wedge to your needs. In addition, with six sole grinds, you can also match to the turf conditions you play most often.

The grooves on the Titleist Vokey SM9 are spin milled so that even when you are hitting those 30 and 50-yard approach shots, the ball will still stop for you.

Ping Glide 4.0

If feel is something you are after in a golf wedge, then the Ping Glide 4.0 is a great place to start. These wedges have a soft CTP insert that improves the feel around the greens while still allowing control.

The Ping Glide has a precision-milled face and grooves that create plenty of friction and texture.

There is a new Emery blast that actually adds some texture to the face of the wedge and grabs the ball just a bit more on those short shots.

The Ping Glide 4.0 has three grind options and a variety of custom shaft options to suit your individual needs as a player. Depending on your typical turf conditions, you can get something with a more rounded edge or a bit of a high leading edge if needed.

TaylorMade Milled Grind 3

The TaylorMade Milled Grind 3 features the new Raw Face Technology. We have been hearing about the Raw face for a few years and seen it incorporated into other models, but this TaylorMade MG3 wedge has certainly been optimized for spin and feel.

One of the things that really helps the MG3 stand out is the optimization for wet turf conditions.

The ZTP Raw Groove design has deeper yet sharper grooves that allow for spin even out of that thicker and wet rough.

The center of gravity is also positioned carefully to provide an enhanced feel and a slightly lower, more precise feel. The Raw face in the MG3 will rust over time, but the look is something many better players prefer.
