The Titleist Pro V1 and the Pro V1x are both premium golf balls that are some of the most popular on the market. Some golfers gravitate toward the Pro V1 and others toward Pro V1x. Titleist just released their newest model of the Pro V1 and Pro V1x, and we thought it would be helpful to understand the differences between these two balls.

Titleist Pro V1 vs. Pro V1x (What Are The Differences)

The key differences between the Pro V1 and Pro V1x are related to the way the golf ball is constructed. The Pro V1 is a three-piece golf ball, and the Pro V1x is a four piece ball with slightly higher compression.

Feel

The Pro V1 has a slightly lower compression than the Pro V1x, so the feel is a little softer. With a softer golf ball, you can often feel more in control around the greens and get a slightly higher ball flight.

Flight

Pro V1 has a mid range ball flight, whereas the Pro V1x has a higher ball flight. The golfers that see the highest ball flight from the Pro V1x are those with faster swing speeds.

Spin (Long Game)

Long-game spin helps to ensure that your golf ball has plenty of roll when it does make contact with the fairway. The Pro V1 and the Pro V1x are both low long, game spin golf balls. This lower spin improves total distance, especially for faster swing speed players.

Of the entire Titleist lineup, the Titleist AVX has the lowest spin.

Spin (Irons)

The Pro V1 has good iron spin; you can stop a shot on the green with your irons, especially if you are hitting a mid range iron. With the Pro V1x expect higher iron spin, where you can really control the ball a bit more and back it up.

Spin (Short Game)

Short game spin is the same as mid iron spin with the Pro V1 and Pro V1x. The Pro V1x spins a little more than the Pro V1. However, the Pro V1 has a slightly softer feel, so players still have plenty of control on and around the greens.

Cost

The Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x have the same cost. These are both considered to be premium golf balls for golfers that are looking for the best technology in the game.

Who Should Play The Pro V1?

The golfers with mid to high swing speeds that are looking for both spin and control on the golf course will enjoy all that the Pro V1 has to offer. The Pro V1 is one of the most popular golf balls among amateur players.

Who Should Play The Pro V1x?

The Pro V1x is a higher-spinning golf ball that has tremendous control around the green and is built for players with the highest swing speeds. Pro V1x is a very popular golf ball among tour professionals that are looking for maximum control and a soft feel around the greens.
