Who Should Play The TaylorMade SIM 2 Driver?

TaylorMade SIM 2 Driver: Three Things To Know

Much of the golf technology is described using acronyms and terminology that the average golfer does not fully understand. Most of these things can be broken down into some fundamental facts about the club. Here's what you need to know about the SIM 2.

Reshaping

The SIM was a very impressive driver. Many players found that they were able to get more ball speed than they could with previous TaylorMade models. However, TaylorMade knew the club could make it through the air faster. This is what created the reshaping project and the new forged ring construction. The SIM 2 has a much more aerodynamic design than other drivers out there.

Speed Injected Twist Face

The speed injected twist face returned in the TaylorMade SIM 2. You can rest assured that before your driver leaves the factor, it is tested to ensure that it is as close as possible to the current legal limit for speed.

Split Mass Weighting

With the new aerodynamic shape and the use of carbon in the club head, there was plenty of weight to move around. This resulted in a split mass weighing system with 16 grams of steel at the rear of the club. The result is more forgiveness and better ball flight.

TaylorMade SIM 2 Driver: Three Models To Choose From

There is a SIM 2 driver for all players. Regardless of your strengths and weaknesses in your game, you can find a model that will work well for you.

TaylorMade SIM 2

The SIM 2 is the player’s driver. Although you will get forgiveness and plenty of distance, you can also work the ball and control the ball’s flight and direction. This driver has been tour-proven and is excellent for those that have a lot of natural swing speed.

TaylorMade SIM 2 Max

The SIM 2 Max is the standard driver for the average golfer. This club is higher launching, has plenty of forgiveness, and will make the game more fun for the majority of golfers.

TaylorMade SIM 2 Max D Driver

The TaylorMade SIM 2 Max driver is for the player that struggles with distance and direction from the tee box. This club has more forgiveness than any of the other models and an internal draw bias.

Is It Worth Upgrading To A TaylorMade SIM 2?

Some new releases do not offer enough change from the previous model to warrant an upgrade. The TaylorMade SIM 2 is genuinely different than the SIM. The entirely new shape does have some impressive performance benefits, and this should be a club that you consider adding to your golf bag this season.

Every time TaylorMade releases a new driver, the golf world races to see what they have done. TaylorMade has gained a tremendous reputation, and they are continuing to give players ball speed that nobody thought was possible. With TaylorMade releasing a new driver each year, it can be challenging to narrow down which one is the best for your game. Let's take a look at the new TaylorMade SIM 2 driver and who should be putting one in their bag.
