WITB Justin Thomas - PGA Championship Winner

The PGA Championship was a great day of golf for both fans and players. Southern Hills played really hard, and any major championship with a playoff tends to be one we all remember. Justin Thomas pulled through with the win after some really solid play on Sunday. Thomas is a Titleist guy with a bag full of Titleist golf clubs. IF you think that Titleist could be a fit for your game or are just curious about what the PGA Champion has in his golf bag, keep on reading!

Driver

The Titleist TSi3 is the driver that Thomas used to win the PGA Championship. This club features the Mitsubishi Diamana ZF 60 TX. Thomas did not use this off of every tee, as Souther Hills creates a bit more of a challenge than that, but he certainly broke it out enough. The TSi3 is long, workable, and helps the better player to keep the spin down.

Fairway Woods

Justin Thomas carries two fairway woods, the Titleist TS3 in the 3 wood and the Titleist 915 Fd in 18 degrees for a 5 wood. The 3 wood features a Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw Blue 85 TX. The 5 wood has a Fujikura Motore Speeder VC 9.2 Tour Spec X. The variation in shafts between all of the longer clubs in Thomas’ bag is quite interesting.

Irons

The irons are a mixed set with the Titleist T100 in the 4 iron and then the Titleist 621 JT in the 5-9 irons. All of these irons feature the True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 golf shaft. Thomas is really accurate with his irons, and he likes to work the ball, this set of clubs is clean-looking and offers tremendous feedback.

Wedges

With a bag full of Titleist golf clubs, it should come as no surprise that Justin Thomas plays with the Vokey wedges. The Vokey SM9 is featured in a 47.5, 52.5, and 57 degree lofts. THe WedgeWorks is what he plays in the 60 degree wedge. In the three higher lofted wedges, you will find the True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400.

The 47.5 degree wedge features the same True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 that we see in the rest of the iron set.

Putter

If you watched the PGA Championship, there were quite a few frustrating putts for Thomas that he knew he needed to make. However, he made just enough to win the even with this Scotty Cameron Phantom X 5 prototype. With the Super Stroke Pistol grip in place, this is a club that many golfers are hoping will become a stock option for Scotty Cameron.

Conclusion

We can see that Justin Thomas is loyal to Titleist, but his game and the Titleist clubs are a good match. He is a very accurate golfer that has plenty of speed and likes to take risks from time to time. If you think that any of the Titleist clubs that Thomas uses could be a good match for your game, Fairway Jockey will have them all available in shafts that will fit your swing speed and game profile.
