Wyndham Clark WITB - AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

The 2024 edition of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am may have been shortened to 54 holes, but Wyndham Clark's win is nothing short of spectacular. Clark's triumph at Pebble Beach Golf Links was fueled by a remarkable Saturday 60, setting a new record and showcasing his prowess on the greens. Let's take a look into key elements that contributed to Clark's victory, including his exceptional putting performance and the weaponry in his golf bag.

Driver

Driving distance is a key aspect of Clark's game, and his 9-degree Titleist TSR3 driver with a Project X HZRDUS Smoke Green 60 6.5 shaft delivered the goods. Ranking third in driving distance at an impressive 310.1 yards, the driver's D1 hosel setting, combined with a SureFit CG weight configuration, produced an optimal spin-to-launch ratio and faster ball speeds.

Fairway Wood

While Clark's driver garnered attention, his TaylorMade Qi10 3-wood played a crucial role in his success. With a 15-degree loft, this 3-wood contributed to Clark's ability to navigate the challenging Pebble Beach layout. Known for its consistency and versatility, the TaylorMade Qi10 allowed Clark to confidently manage various situations, complementing his formidable driving game.

Irons

Clark's iron play at Pebble Beach showcased a mix of Mizuno and Titleist clubs, demonstrating his thoughtful approach to shotmaking. Carrying Mizuno Pro Fli-Hi irons (3) and Titleist 620 CB irons (4-9), Clark's iron setup provided the precision required for the diverse challenges posed by the iconic Pebble Beach course.

Mizuno Pro Fli-Hi utility irons, known for their playability and versatility, offered Clark a reliable option for long shots. The Titleist 620 CB irons further complemented his game, delivering consistency and control throughout the set.

Wedges

Wedges are a crucial aspect of any golfer's arsenal, and Clark's choice of Titleist Vokey SM10 (48, 52, 56 degrees) and a custom Titleist Vokey WedgeWorks (60 degrees) showcased his mastery around the greens. These wedges provided the spin and control necessary for precise short-game shots, giving Clark a distinct advantage in critical moments during the tournament.

Putter

Clark's standout performance in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am was undoubtedly propelled by his flawless putting. Utilizing the Odyssey Ai-One Jailbird mallet for the first time in competition, Clark demonstrated why it's a game-changer. Ranked first in strokes gained/putting for the week, Clark gained over six shots on the field, thanks to the Jailbird shape he prefers and the innovative Ai-One urethane insert. This insert ensures consistent ball speeds, even on off-center hits, making the putter a crucial asset in Clark's victory. Standing at 35.75 inches with a double bend shaft, this putter played a pivotal role as Clark sank over 180 feet of putts in the record-setting third round alone.

Conclusion

Wyndham Clark's victory at Pebble Beach was a testament to his skill and the precision of his equipment. As he continues to make waves in the golfing world, his strategic approach to equipment selection and performance on the course will undoubtedly keep fans and fellow golfers eagerly following his journey.
