The latest edition of Capital One The Match was different from previous versions. Instead of featuring PGA Tour players, this was between four of the most famous quarterbacks in the NFL. The teams of Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers took on Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. In the end, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers came out on top. We thought it would be interesting to see what Brand and Rodgers have in their bag and how this could have contributed to their win.
Tom Brady
Tom Brady is a bit secretive about the clubs he is currently playing. This is the setup he has been playing the last few years; there may have been a few last minute change ups before the match started. However, you will see that Brady is not loyal to one brand like his partner Rodgers.
Driver
The Callaway Mavrik Sub Zero driver set at 9 degrees has been a good fit for Brady. Tom Brady is known for having good club head speed and being a good ball striker. The Mavrik Sub Zero allows for really good control and low spin.
3 Wood
The 3 wood is the TaylorMade SIM. This is yet another player's model fairway wood with control and workability in the clubhead. The TaylorMade SIM is also known for its very impressive distance.
Irons & Wedges
Brady has a mixed set of irons with a Titleist U510, followed by the 3-6 iron in the Titleist T-MB and then the 7-PW in the Titleist T100. This is not a traditional Titleist lineup, but it works quite well for Brady. He then carries the PXG Milled at 54 and 60 degrees.
Putter
The putter in Tom Brady’s bag is a TaylorMade Ghost Monza.
Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers does not prefer a mixed bag of clubs and would rather stick with just one company. TaylorMade is the manufacturer of choice for Aaron Rodgers, and you can find videos of him going through various club fittings through the years. Here is what he currently has in his bag.
Driver
It should be no surprise that a TaylorMade guy has the TaylorMade Stealth Plus in his bag. The Stealth Plus is a 9 degree driver with some of the longest distances offered.
Fairway Woods
The fairway wood in Rodgers bag is a TaylorMade SIM2 Max with a Fujikura Ventus Black 7X. This club helps players get tremendous distance from the fairway or from the tee and leaves golfers with full confidence in what they are trying to accomplish on the course.
Irons and Wedges
The irons are a mixed set with a TaylorMade SIM UDI 2 and the TaylorMade P770 in the 3-PW. These clubs feature the Fujikura Ventus HB 9 X and the Project X 6.5. The wedges are the TaylorMade MG2 in 52, 56, and 60-degree lofts.
Putter
Last but not least in the bag of Aaron Rodgers is the TaylorMade Spider Tour Black. The Spider is a mallet head design that is very consistent and allows for stability at impact. The TaylorMade Spider putters have always been well known on the PGA Tour and continue to be used by many players.
