Now that the new TaylorMade Stealth 2 drivers and irons have come to market, its time to focus on the short game. There is a new Spider putter being added to the lineup this year, the Spider GTX putter. With the Spider GTX, you will get a similar look to the traditional Spider putter design, but it has become more modern looking. Let’s take a look into what the TaylorMade 2023 Spider GTX putter has to offer and whether or not it is a fit for your game.
TaylorMade 2023 Spider GTX Putter
At Fairway Jockey, we love customization, and apparently, so does TaylorMade. In addition to making the TaylorMade 2023 Spider GTX more modern looking and stable, it also has some unique features when it comes to customization and color.
Extreme Back Weighting for Forgiveness
A weight placed in the back of a putter will help keep the putter face stable and improve overall forgiveness in the putts you are taking. The Spider GTX looks similar to the previous TaylorMade Spider putters and has the True Path alignment system.
Many of the latest mallet style releases to the market are high MOI putters, but the Spider GTX worked to combine pure feel with the high MOI design.
Pure Roll 2 Insert
One of the things that have helped the TaylorMade Spider putters stand out is the impressive Pure Roll inserts. This Pure Roll 2 Insert is slightly firmer to help improve ball speed at impact. In addition, the angle of the insert improves topspin across the entire face of the putter.
True Path Alignment and Custom Features
The TaylorMade 2023 Spider GTX comes in your choice of six colors. You can choose from black, white, dune silver, bubble gum, ice blue, or red. In addition, there are three putter hosel connections the small slant, single bend, and center shaft.
The idea is for you to be able to create the perfect visual experience and combine that with a match for your putting stroke and style. True Path Alignment is a clean white line on the top of the putter head that will help any player that struggles with alignment.
6061 Aluminum Design
The putter head is made from a lightweight 6061 Aluminum material. Making the putter from aluminum allowed for the repositioning of weight and moving more to the back Stability Bar. With the Stability Bar in the back holding up to 154 grams of steel, the putter face is very stable at impact.
For those with a straight back and straight-through clubface, this stability greatly improves consistency in the stroke.
Final Thoughts
If you look back at the putter releases from TaylorMade since the original Spider, you will see that the technology just keeps getting better. The Spider line of putters is here to stay, and the new GTX is certainly one of the most advanced we have seen.
At Fairway Jockey, you can purchase the Spider GTX putter with a variety of customizations available. From putter length to color to grip style and size, at Fairway Jockey, we have you covered.
