SST PURE is a golf shaft alignment technology that locates the shaft's most consistent bending plane. Then the shaft in installed pointing toward the target, in line with how the shaft will bend during the swing. This reduces inconsistent bending throughout the swing and leads to more consistent ball flight, improved accuracy, and better overall performance with every swing.

Fit Profile

Handle Section · Drives Feel
Butt stiffness refers to the stiffness profile of the handle (grip) section of the shaft. The butt section of the shaft has the biggest impact on feel. The softer the handle, the more you feel the shaft flex. The stiffer the handle, the more a shaft feels "boardy." Players who have active hands, rely on rhythm and timing, or play by feel often benefit from a softer handle, while those who have a quicker tempo or those that don't like to feel the shaft flex often prefer stiffer handles.

Tip Section · Drives Launch
Tip stiffness refers to the stiffness profile of the end (head) section of the shaft. The tip section of the shaft has the biggest impact on launch. The softer the tip, the easier the club can rotate through impact and create loft. Shafts with softer tips generally help launch the ball higher and help correct push or slice tendencies. Shafts with stiffer tips generally help launch the ball lower and help correct pull or hook tendencies. Faster swing speeds often benefit from a stiffer tip by retaining stability and producing flighted trajectories, while slower swing speeds often benefit from a softer tip by generating speed and height.

"Wanted to change original length customer support confirmed updated length within 24hrs really pleased with purchase"
"Shaft was built exactly to specs requested. Overall this shaft has a softer tip section which helps promote mid-high ball flight while still managing to produce lower spin...a great combo! You can definitely feel the softer tip section during the transition part of the swing (the club feels like it works for you at the bottom of the swing, instead of feeling too stiff). I bought the 65X for my Ping G430 driver and it's been the perfect pairing!"
"I got fit for the VA Slay in my new driver at Club Champion. I tried all of the major OEM upgrade shafts at the time. Fujikura Pro, Mitsubishi Tensei, Project X Even flow, don't remember which Aldila but there was one. The VA Slay was the clear winner. It was not any longer than the other shafts but the difference in dispersion was noticeably better than every other shaft we tried. I was 55 at the time of the fitting and swing in the mid 90's w driver and was fit with the 55-4 Slay which is 57 g and is VA's "stiff." I would say that the stiff shaft feels less stiff than the other "stiff" shafts that I hit. I generally hit a high ball with a very slight fade. After dropping $855 at CC for a TM M4 w the Slay, the real test came when I took the club to the course. Not only did I notice the improvement in my number of fairways hit, but all of my buddies did as well. Have since put Slays in my 3 and 5 woods as well as the 3, 4 and 5 Ping G410 hybrids I play."
