"Master craftsman Katsuhiro Miura talks about the KM-700 iron, which took him five years to create. TaylorMade's P770 had no major complaints so far and was supposed to fit in my bag until the end of this year... The only complaint is the variation in distance. Due to the trampoline effect unique to hollow golf balls, if you hit the ball just right at the center of the face, you will get more distance than you expected. On the other hand, if the lie is bad and you hit the ball with the lower eye of the face, you will lose a lot of distance. Based on that, it seems that they have cultivated a sense of distance up until now, and it wasn't a big problem. This time I headed to my favorite golf workshop to replace the shaft of my DR. The owner, Chip Usher, ``Toshi! Miura's new irons will be released soon, this is the iron,'' he said as he handed it to me. "Muscle back? I can't hit it anymore!" He said, ``It's okay! He's kind.'' As I picked it up and looked at it, a certain emotion began to dawn on me. love at first sight! I have been through a long process of selecting golf clubs, but it was the same shock I had when I met my first wife💕. "Beautiful! A silhouette that looks just like a Japanese sword." I asked if he came in anytime. "It's scheduled to arrive in June! If you need it, the first thing to do is waste it." I said, “Please!” I remember it as it was in the middle of March. After 4 months of waiting, I finally got it. It was the day before the battle tournament, and I used it in the actual battle. Of course the results were not good. It had a unique neck treatment that was completely different from previous irons, so it felt strange when I was standing on it, and I couldn't make good contact with the ball. My big mistake with irons is toe hits. Therefore, at address, I hold the ball close to the heel side. Even when competing, you can hit the sweet spot on the extension line of the shaft with a winning feeling. However, in this match, the distance between heel hits and mistakes did not go as expected. Since it's a muscle back, I expected the half club to fall more than the hollow iron, but it fell more than that. There just aren't enough balls. ``Is it really impossible to do muscle backing?'' he said, feeling depressed. But after that, I worked hard at the practice range and made adjustments. The answer was easy. I set up so that the ball would come to the center instead of setting up on the heel side. Maybe...I was holding it normally. The ball had a wonderful trajectory. That is down to the 5 iron. I added a 4 iron facing outward around the tip the next day. “I can hit this with a 4-iron!” And now, two weeks later, I can say this with confidence. The feel (sound), spin rate, and distance were all starting to show imaginary results. I can say with confidence that this is the best iron I've ever had. Beautiful and sharp, ah, that's the ultimate iron. Trembling? to be continued."

Switching to KM700 Was a “Victory”
"When these were teased and first came out, I had no intention of moving on from the CB301s I had been playing for over 2 years. I loved the unique look and loved the idea of a “forgiving” blade, but as another reviewer said, I didn’t need the KM700s. I had been playing good golf and had dropped my handicap from a 12 to 8 over the last year. What inspired me to switch? First, I wanted to switch to graphite shafts due to ongoing wrist/elbow issues. As well as I was playing and as much as I loved the CB301, I also wanted a smaller profile and thinner sole that would feel better getting through the turf. I then started looking at the KM700 again and decided to do a fitting to see if there was improvement from the CB301 for my game. There was, and the numbers have translated to the course. Having put in significant practicing and playing with the KM700 since getting them, I love these irons! The KM700 is a blade, but it is not as intimidating as other blades. It also does not punish less than perfect contact as significantly as other blade irons/players irons I have tried in the past. Compared to the CB301, I have been able to maintain the same distances but am now hitting the ball a bit higher and with more control due to the differences between the two clubs. In terms of size, the KM700 is shorter heel to toe and has a narrower sole and topline than the CB301, but not to the point that the CB301 suddenly feels like a big/SGI iron. The difference in turf interaction and feel at impact is also significantly better with the KM700. The CB301 when struck well feels incredibly solid, and the ball flies off the face, but the wider sole sometimes bounces off the ground. The KM700 maintains the same feel as the CB301, but in a narrower package that quickly gets in and out of the turf without digging or bouncing. I would recommend for anyone looking for a more forgiving players iron, or anyone that, like me, wants to splurge/treat yourself. These will stay in the bag for a very long time! Also, fun fact, the hanko stamp according to translator apps says “Victory,” and these irons are a victory in innovation and all around performance."

Pure! Heaven!
"These irons have a feel to them that I have not experienced before. My previous Miura irons were outstanding, even though they were 14 years old! My KM 700s are 700 times better! Ball flight, shot shape and feedback are the strengths of these irons. I wish Miura still made drivers!"

Worth every penny
"I have tried my share of irons. I have been using Taylormade P790’s since 2012 and have been wanting an upgrade. I went with PXG’s gen 3’s thinking that was the next step. Returned it after two weeks due to worse performance compared to my old irons. I thought that maybe it was due to a bad fitting and tried the PXG gen 4 irons. I ended up giving those to my son. Finally, I got the KM 700’s. I can’t believe I waited so long to try these. Even with miss hits, I still hit the green and not 20 yards short like the PXG’s. I am also now able to better shape my shots which I could not with the P790’s. I love these irons! The main thing about playing an iron is how you feel setting up behind the ball. This club is so pleasing to the eye, I feel like I can’t miss. Now I need to order the Maura wedges to complete my set."

KM-700 After 10+ Rounds and 20+ Range Sessions
"I did not need these clubs. But I wanted them - rewarding myself as I approach retirement. Absolutely beautiful out of the box. Waited until I played with them multiple times before submitting a review. Bought head covers but I don't use them now. The KM-700's, suspect like all Miura products, are incredibly solid. They will pick up small nicks and dings over time but I didn't get them to sit in a bag in the garage. Previously playing CB-716's with DG X-100's (which were given to me) and will keep those as a back up. OK - how do they play: Feel is awesome. I feel like I get a drop off in distance if I hit the ball thin compared to the old clubs (but that's my fault). A good strike is rewarded with a great ball flight and an incredible feel. Biggest challenge I had at first was adjusting to a slightly different swing weight (KM-700's are Oban 125S). Sounds stupid - but even a couple of grams seemed to give me issues with timing (so note - that's not the clubs fault). Playing 5 - PW. Hit the 7 iron ~155 yard - the same as before with about the same lofts. Yes, I can hit it further if I swing harder but I don't want to. The 5 and 6 irons look slightly bigger to me than the old clubs and find them a bit easier to hit. I am a high single digit handicapper and I'm "good enough" to play them. Will send another review in 2033."

Mid handicapper on KM700
"Honestly at first, it was all about the looks that made me want them but I was worried if I made a mistake and given up my JPX921 forge. But once I managed get them on the range and the course it took me a few sessions to understand what I was able to achieve. I didn't lose distance, I was able still hit my 7i 170+yrds but Im able to shape it and control my ball flight and the most surprising was there was still some forgiveness not a lot but enough for me, I felt comfortable that I'm consistent on ball strikes; overall I love the fact I feel so confident when I address the ball with my 4i and its the same confidence as I would with my 7i and PW. Mist buy irons"

Simply Amazing
"As a mid handicap player, I was worried that I would not be able to play these beautiful irons. I was determined to become a better ball striker, just so that I could use them. To my utter amazement, they are very forgiving on thin and off center hits with a buttery soft feel. I gained the distance that I had lost going from 790Ti's to pro 225's. These are making me a better player-look absolutely beautiful-have an intoxicating feel and just bring a huge smile to my face when I use them...even the 4 iron. Don't be afraid to try these if you have a higher handicap....you might be pleasantly surprised."

Best irons I've ever played
"Amazing irons. Flush shots feel like butter, miss hits are more forgiving then my Taylormade P790's. They look absolutely beautiful and play as well as you'd hope. First round out got my first eagle in 20 years, sticking a 6i to 10ft from 180yds. Wish all my clubs felt this good."

Best Irons for feel and workability
"I’m loving these irons. A lot more forgiving than what I was expecting. Amazing feel off the face and can really work these clubs when playing tougher lies. These will be in the bag for the next 10 years."
